The Observatory – DBT 2.7

The Observatory: Trajectory & Wise Action

DBT • LEVEL 2.7 • Final Observatory

You’ve mapped your inner compass, watched the tides of emotion, found harbors of safety, charted your values, and traced the constellations of your patterns. The Observatory is where all of that comes together in one question: Given this moment, what is my next wise step?

Wise action in DBT is not dramatic or perfect. It weaves three forces: Acceptance (what is), Alignment (what matters), and Action (one small move in that direction).

OBSERVATORY DIAL Stillness STILLNESS TRAJECTORY ORIENTATION
Stillness: A pause to feel what is happening right now, without immediately fixing, escaping, or judging it.

When you’re overwhelmed, you don’t have to skip straight to action. The Observatory invites you into a sequence: first Stillness (notice), then Orientation (what matters here?), then Trajectory (what is one next wise step?).
