Anxious and On Edge, The Sense That Something Is Wrong
Anxious and on edge is a state where your system is alert but unsettled. There may not be a clear threat, yet your body feels keyed up and uneasy. Attention jumps ahead, scanning for problems or imagining what could go wrong.
You might notice restlessness, tightness in the chest or belly, shallow breathing, racing thoughts, or difficulty settling. Even small decisions can feel urgent or heavy. Your system is trying to keep you safe by staying ready.
The invitation here is not to eliminate anxiety. It is to gently orient to what is actually present. By slowing the body just a little and noticing what is real right now, this state can soften without being pushed away.
